Examiner launches PR Bureau news service on a commercial basis but to the highest ethical standards

New PR Bureau service is a commercial offering but is being launched to meet a growing demand from corporate and institutional clients who want to get their message out to our highly influential readership in Thailand and around the world.

The Thai Examiner is to launch a PR Bureau to process public and commercial announcements for organisations, firms and public agencies in Thailand on a commercial basis as separate but complementary news and information service to the website’s increasingly popular incisive, balanced and honest news coverage of Thailand.

PR News sponsored article service – tariff of charges:

Preparation of one article from 600 to 1,500 words: $250
Publication of the article on the Thai Examiner: $750

The process for this includes:

  1. Sending you an account and proforma invoice for $250 to have a sponsored article prepared by the Examiner PR Bureau. Payment of the invoice is on the basis that the final article remains the property of the Thai Examiner which retains copyright and full editorial control over the piece which may also be published on other services and syndicated international platforms linked with the Thai Examiner.
  2. This includes video, audio and other materials which may also be produced to accompany the article.
  3. Once the article is completed, the fee for its publication of $750 will be raised as the invoice must be paid before the editorial piece is published under our PR News section but may also be published live on other news feeds and services where it is deemed appropriate.
  4. There is a strict quota limit on the number of these articles that may mean a delay in publication. Advanced planning and preparation is important.

  5. All Thai Examiner articles are subject to strict quality control principles to preserve the integrity of the Thai Examiner, the reputation of the sponsor and the trust between our publication and its readers.

The news service is however part of the Thai Examiner range of advertising services and in this respect, it is to be differentiated from our general and investigative news service.

‘We want our readers to know that this is a commercial service but at the same time, there is no reason for this not to be genuine and approached with the highest standards in mind,’ explains the Editor of Thai Examiner. ‘The first newspapers evolved from commercial and public notices and they have a valid role to play. What we want to avoid at all costs is becoming indirect ‘influencers’ or anything like that. What you see is what you’re getting. We know our readers are intelligent enough to understand that.’

Objective, honest and factual news that is of value and of genuine interest to our readers in Thailand

Nevertheless, the Examiner PR Bureau aims to provide objective and factual news even within this environment and will not publish any information or story that is either not of genuine interest to our readers or is something that falls short of our values which include public service news reporting, honesty and balanced coverage.

‘We have thought long and hard about this service. It is a response to demand from third parties who have a legitimate right to have their voice heard even if it is on a commercial basis but we want to make sure that this differentiation is made clear while also imposing our own standards,’ Mr O’Connor said. ‘We will tweak and adjust the service as we move on.

Examiner PR Bureau banner on all stories

The PR Bureau news stories will be under its banner on Thai Examiner and will have a similar layout and style of presentation while also being published with the news website’s daily news stories and general coverage.

Each story will be edited by the newspaper’s sub-editing team and will only be published after it meets quality standards in addition to other conditions aimed at ensuring transparency and integrity.

Growing readership, syndication and more platforms

The readership of the Thai Examiner continues to grow now reaching hundreds of thousands of readers per month.

The online newspaper has also been syndicated and is featured on several closed international news platforms aimed at the financial, academic and administrative markets.
