A bizarre Spider-Man protest has dragged another Frenchman into the controversy engulfing a troubled Koh Samui animal park. Marketing manager Sasha, 36, was arrested after entering Samui Exotic Park masked as the superhero, tearing down an Israeli-related banner and replacing it with a peace message. He then scattered 80 Pokémon cards, displayed plush toys and fled by motorcycle. Police tracked him to a Lipa Noi hotel and seized the costume, banners, toys, cards and motorcycle. Sasha said he was protesting divisions among tourists and animals being held captive. However, the park’s French operator Kevin Dimino is already fighting a deportation order signed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul following a dispute involving Israeli nationals. In another twist, Sasha’s father Stefan previously faced separate immigration action over a suspected nominee hotel business.
A Frenchman dressed as Spider-Man has been arrested after launching a bizarre Pokémon protest at a controversial Koh Samui animal park. The 36-year-old entered Samui Exotic Park wearing a black Spider-Man mask and dark hoodie.
He then tore down an Israeli-related banner and replaced it with a message calling for peace. Moments later, Pokémon toys appeared and dozens of trading cards went flying across the ground.
However, the masked intervention did not last long. The Frenchman jumped onto a motorcycle and left the property after completing his performance. The park owner called police and demanded his prosecution. Within hours, investigators were closing in on a hotel room across the island.

Police identified the man only as Sasha, a 36-year-old French national. He works as a marketing manager for a company on Koh Samui. Moreover, he holds Non-Immigrant status and can remain in Thailand until July 20, 2027. Police found no previous criminal record or other adverse history.
Yet the timing could hardly have been more charged. Samui Exotic Park was already engulfed in controversy involving foreigners and Israeli nationals. Its French operator, Kevin Dimino, had recently been ordered deported from Thailand. Separately, Sasha’s own father faced another immigration case involving a suspected nominee hotel business.
Video of the Spider-Man stunt surfaced publicly on September 20. It showed Sasha inside the property wearing the black mask and long-sleeved dark clothing. According to police, he had entered without permission. Once inside, he headed towards the building and began performing for the camera.
First, Sasha announced his unusual mission. “Let’s save all the Pokémon and give peace to this world,” he declared. He then moved towards a vinyl banner attached to the building. The banner displayed an Israeli flag with a prohibition symbol across it.

At that point, the performance became even stranger. Sasha positioned the Pokémon toys on the cloth and again addressed the camera. “Save them all. Release them all,” he repeatedly declared. He then scattered a large collection of Pokémon trading cards across the scene.
Finally, the masked Frenchman headed for his motorcycle. He quickly left Samui Exotic Park, leaving the toys, cards and peace display behind. In response, the park owner went to Koh Samui Police Station. A formal complaint was filed seeking his arrest and prosecution.
Police immediately began working to identify the man behind the mask. Investigators eventually traced Sasha to the Lipa Noi area of Koh Samui. At approximately 6 pm on September 19, police and immigration officers launched their operation. They found their suspect inside a hotel room.
Police Colonel Panya Niratimanon, superintendent of Koh Samui Police Station, later disclosed details of the arrest. Before that, Police Lieutenant Colonel Worapong Chumvorathayee, deputy superintendent of investigation, helped lead the operation. Police Lieutenant Colonel Sawat Talwalli, investigation chief, also joined the team.
Police and immigration officers arrest Sasha in Lipa Noi and seize Pokémon cards, toys and banners
Alongside them was Police Lieutenant Satchukorn Kongprak, deputy chief of patrol. Meanwhile, investigators from Koh Samui Police Station formed the core arrest team. Officers from the Ban Mae Nam Public Service Unit patrol team provided further support. Surat Thani Immigration officers stationed on Koh Samui also joined the operation.
The combined team moved into the Lipa Noi hotel and arrested Sasha for trespassing. As part of this, police recovered an extraordinary haul connected with the filmed stunt. It included the clothing, toys, banners and cards visible during the performance.
Police counted 80 Pokémon trading cards among the seized property. They also recovered two Pokémon plush toys. Notably, officers seized the “IMAGINE ALL PEOPLE LIVING IN PEACE” banner displayed outside the park. The Spider-Man costume was also taken as evidence.
In addition, police recovered the vinyl banner carrying the Israeli flag and prohibition symbol. Officers also seized Sasha’s motorcycle. Consequently, investigators had recovered virtually every distinctive item connected with the highly unusual performance.
During initial questioning, Sasha admitted carrying out the stunt, according to police. He also explained why he had targeted the animal park. Sasha said the controversy and flag at the property were creating divisions among tourists. Therefore, he decided to remove the banner secretly.

In its place, Sasha said he displayed his own peace message. Meanwhile, the Pokémon toys and trading cards carried another intended meaning. He told investigators that the collection belonged personally to him. He said it symbolised his belief that animals should not be kept in captivity.
Despite that explanation, the park owner had already demanded legal action. Police therefore continued with the trespassing case. Sasha was handed to investigating officers at Koh Samui Police Station for further proceedings.
At the same time, police examined his immigration status and personal background. Their checks showed Sasha was working as a marketing manager on Koh Samui. His immigration permission remains valid until July 20, 2027. Furthermore, officers found no previous criminal record or history of negative behaviour.
Then came another twist. Their investigation confirmed Sasha was the son of another French national already known to Surat Thani Immigration. His father was identified only as Stefan. Months earlier, Stefan had faced a separate case involving a suspected nominee business arrangement.
In July, Surat Thani Immigration took action against Stefan over a business operation connected with a hotel. The supplied information describes the case as involving a nominee arrangement. However, no further details concerning its outcome were released alongside Sasha’s arrest.

His chosen method was anything but conventional. Sasha entered the property dressed as a comic-book superhero. He carried two Pokémon plush toys and dozens of collectable cards. Additionally, he brought a multicoloured banner carrying an English-language peace message.
Once inside, the performance unfolded rapidly. First came the declaration about saving Pokémon and bringing peace to the world. Then came the removal of the Israeli-related banner. After that, Sasha unfurled his own message and positioned the Pokémon toys.

Seconds later, trading cards covered the ground. Then the masked Frenchman was gone on his motorcycle. In turn, the park owner went straight to police. The stunt had moved from social-media spectacle to criminal complaint.
