He also suffered injuries to his arm and was found lying in a pool of blood. Police later recovered a blood-stained pair of scissors from the house.
The drama unfolded late on Thursday, August 6, at the family residence in Sattahip district. At 9.50 pm, Pol Col Wutthiphong Somjai received a report of a serious stabbing. He is the superintendent of Plutaluang Police Station.
In response, he headed directly to the property with police officers and emergency crews. A rescue unit from Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital also raced to the scene. Sattahip rescue workers joined the emergency operation.

Inside, officers encountered a house marked by the violence which had unfolded minutes earlier. Blood was splattered across the floor of the residence. Police found the injured man lying in a pool of blood.
They identified him as Chat, 52, a Chief Petty Officer serving with the Royal Thai Fleet. Notably, he had already lost a large amount of blood before rescuers reached him.
Chat had injuries to his arm and a stab wound around his lower left ribcage. Rescue personnel immediately administered first aid as police secured the property. Given his blood loss, emergency crews moved quickly to get him to hospital. He was rushed to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital for further treatment.
In parallel, officers began examining the blood-covered scene for evidence. Their search uncovered a pair of scissors stained with blood inside the property. Police collected the scissors and retained them as evidence. Investigators then began piecing together the confrontation which had left the naval officer seriously wounded.

Outside, police found Chat’s 18-year-old daughter still at the property. Officers identified her as the person who stabbed her father during the confrontation. She appeared frightened as she stood outside the family home, according to the police account. Subsequently, officers took her into custody for further questioning.
The first account of the incident came from the wounded Chief Petty Officer. According to Chat, he had become involved in an argument with his daughter shortly before the stabbing. However, the argument did not remain verbal. Instead, the dispute escalated into a physical confrontation between father and daughter.
Crucially, nobody else was inside the house when the confrontation took place. Chat and his daughter were alone throughout the incident. His wife was away from their Sattahip home and working in Pattaya. As a result, investigators had no independent eyewitness to describe what happened between the pair.
Police were also given information about the relationship between father and daughter. Specifically, investigators were told that the pair had a history of arguments. Officers were additionally informed that the 18-year-old suffers from depression. Police have not stated that her condition caused or contributed to the stabbing.
Police reconstruct Sattahip stabbing as scissors and statements become central to continuing inquiry
Instead, detectives are concentrating on reconstructing what happened inside the residence that night. They must establish how the initial argument developed into a physical confrontation. Separately, officers are examining how Chat sustained the injuries to his arm and lower ribcage.
The blood-stained scissors are among the physical evidence recovered from the house. Investigators will consider that evidence alongside statements from the two people involved. At this stage, police have not released the daughter’s detailed account of the confrontation.
Chat’s injuries have also prevented investigators from immediately completing their questioning of him. Nevertheless, he provided an initial statement describing the argument with his daughter. Police plan to return to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital once his condition stabilises. They will then seek a fuller account of the events leading to the stabbing.
As part of this, investigators must compare his additional statement with information provided by his daughter. They will also examine the evidence collected from the blood-covered residence. Police have not yet announced the outcome of their questioning or any final charge against the teenager.
Emergency crews battle naval officer’s heavy blood loss as police secure evidence at Sattahip home
The emergency response began rapidly after the report reached Plutaluang Police Station at 9.50 pm. Pol Col Wutthiphong personally travelled to the scene alongside other officers. Meanwhile, naval hospital personnel and Sattahip rescue workers converged on the property to treat the wounded serviceman.
For rescuers, Chat’s heavy blood loss made medical treatment the immediate priority. They administered first aid before moving him from the house. Shortly afterwards, he was transported to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital. There, doctors continued treating injuries suffered during the confrontation.
Back at the residence, police turned their attention to the scene and Chat’s daughter. The blood across the floor showed the extent of the injured man’s bleeding. Furthermore, the blood-stained scissors gave investigators physical evidence connected with the incident. Officers secured the item before continuing their examination of the property.
Daughter remains at scene as police await wounded father’s fuller account of violent confrontation
The daughter had remained outside rather than leaving the location before police arrived. Officers found her appearing frightened and took control of the situation. Soon afterwards, she was taken away for questioning about the violent clash with her father.
On another front, investigators are awaiting further information from the wounded naval officer. His condition must first stabilise sufficiently for another police interview. That statement will allow detectives to obtain his fuller account of the confrontation.
Police will then have accounts from both people who were inside the house. Their investigation will also include evidence collected from the residence. Since Chat’s wife was working in Pattaya, she did not witness the incident itself.
